Real Estate Salesperson (RES) Course & RES Exam
Attending the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) Course is the first step to becoming a real esate professional in Singapore.
Basic criteria:

21 years old or above
-
Possess at least four GCE 'O' levels or an equivalent qualification (e.g. achieved level 5 of the Workplace Literacy and Numeracy / WPLN assessment);

Possess a pass in the Real Estate Salesperson (RES) exam or equivalent at a Real estate course Singapore;

Registered with one estate agent only (eg Huttons);

Do not possess a moneylender’s licence or be employed in any capacity by a moneylender;

Take part in no less than 6 hours of Continuous Professional Development annually (CPD Hours);

Must have Professional Indemnity Insurance with one year of validity from registration start date.
You can only undertake courses approved by the Council for Estate Agencies (CEA) and complete the CEA course through an approved course provider, e.g. Hastor, the
Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA) etc
You must complete the RES course & exam registration and sit for the exam within a 2-year period. Upon passing the exam, you must join a real estate agency
within 2 years. You can also join a leading agency like Huttons prior to attending the RES course or sitting for the exam, in order to increase your chances of passing the exam.

What is the RES exam designed to test?
The RES exam tests the competency and knowledge of the aspiring real estate salesperson and ensures that they have the ability to act as a real estate salesperson in Singapore.
Paper 1 is on Basic Real Estate Concept and Law and will pose RES exam questions on two units: these cover an industry overview as well as concepts of land
law.
Paper 2 is on Real Estate Salespersons Practice and Regulations. It will pose questions based on two additional units which cover marketing as well as laws
and practices of property transactions.
